At the moment, the sporting world is a little bit quiet. Royal Ascot has been and gone, the football season doesn’t start for another six weeks or so, and you don’t often get a lot of bang for your bucks when betting on the likes of tennis. But, this doesn’t mean you can’t use your online free bets. One option is to bet on the transfer market.
Most bookmakers give you the option of betting on a player to move to another team before the 3rd September 2017, which is the end of the current transfer window. It is important to be aware of the bookmakers’ terms in regards to what constitutes as a transfer and what does not. For example, do loan deals count? For most bookies, Sky Bet being a prime example, only permanent transfers count, meaning you won’t make any money if the player you have chosen moves to the said club on a temporary basis. So, let’s take a look at some of the current options in the transfer market for you to place your free bets on. With recent rumours that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to leave Manchester United, there have been a lot of online free bets placed on his whereabouts next season. You will only get about a 17p return off £1 if you bet on ‘any MLS club’. If you think his future lies outside the U.S., you will find some great value, with Zenit Saint Petersburg priced at around 8/1, AC Milan at 14/1, and any Chinese club at 16/1.
Another Premier League player that has been at the centre of transfer speculation is Ross Barkley. At the moment, the 23-year-old is evens to stay at Everton. You can get 9/4 on a move to AC Milan, 5/1 for Barkley to move to Tottenham, and 33/1 for him to switch to the red side of Merseyside with a daring move to Liverpool. One thing that caused a lot of debate at the end of the season was John Terry’s farewell at Chelsea, but where will he move? He’s currently priced at 1/8 to move to Championship side Aston Villa. However, you can bet on a whole host of clubs, from Swansea (20/1) to Watford (40/1). Or, perhaps you fancy him to do a U-turn and stay at Chelsea? You will get 50/1 for that. Another player you may want to hedge your free bet offers on is Alexander Lacazette. Arsenal are heavy favourites to sign the Lyon striker at 1/2, but given their recent history, you may want to opt for a team at bigger odds, such as Dortmund (12/1) or Liverpool (16/1). Last but not least, a lot of people are sure to be using their UK free bet on Alexis Sanchez’ whereabouts next season. Will he stay at Arsenal? Will he move up north to Manchester City? Or how about a move to Germany?
The transfer market is certainly an exciting place to hedge your online free bets at the moment. The above merely scratches the surface of the different options available. Other plays subject to speculation include Alvaro Morata, Matteo Darmian, Troy Deeney, Wayne Rooney, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
